Programme
Girl Child Empowerment
Education support, mentorship, scholarships, life skills and menstrual hygiene education.
Overview
What this programme does
Too many girls leave school for reasons that have nothing to do with ability — school fees, period poverty, early marriage or the absence of a single person telling them they can. Our girl child programme removes those barriers one girl at a time and keeps her in the classroom until she can stand on her own.
Objectives
- Keep at-risk girls enrolled and progressing through secondary school
- Build confidence, leadership and decision-making skills
- End period poverty as a reason for missed school days
- Connect every girl to a consistent, vetted mentor
Key activities
- Education support and scholarship placements
- Leadership development clubs in partner schools
- One-to-one and group mentorship
- Life skills and financial literacy workshops
- Menstrual hygiene education and dignity kits

“I had already packed my books away. The scholarship and my mentor gave me back a future I can describe out loud.”
How you can support
- Sponsor a girl's school year
- Fund a term of dignity kits
- Volunteer as a mentor or workshop facilitator
